Dream Children's Home currently supports more than 140 orphaned and vulnerable children, many of whom reside within the children’s home, where they receive shelter, care, protection, nutrition, and a safe family environment.
Education remains a core pillar of our child development approach. To ensure access to quality learning opportunities, the organization established Lekuruki School, located adjacent to the children’s home. The school serves both children from the home and those from the surrounding community, promoting inclusion and community integration.
Lekuruki School currently offers Baby Class, Pre-Unit, and Classes 1–8 and has been facilitating KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Primary Education) examinations since 2018. Children who successfully transition to secondary school continue their education through sponsorship support, primarily within boarding school environments. Both boys and girls are supported throughout their educational journey until completion.
Despite the progress made, sustaining education and child care services remains a significant financial challenge. Secondary school education costs an average of €963 per child annually, depending on the institution attended. In addition, primary school costs approximately €853 per child per year to support the operations of Lekuruki School, including teacher salaries, meals, stationery, utilities, and other operational expenses.
Through continued partnership and support, Dream Project Kenya seeks to ensure that vulnerable children not only access education but also grow within stable, supportive, and nurturing environments that enable them to reach their full potential.
